Sitting here in a war zone and reading all these western "problems" is actually mildly entertaining. Here, we live by action more than thinking even we must think in order to act. That action is the will to survive which includes more than just food, water, and shelter. We also take action to preserve our psyche because if we don't, we can actually begin to feel it slipping away. Maybe a dystopian reality would wake everyone up from their existential crisis which doesn't look all that existential from here. Cynical? You betcha. Until your existence is actually threatened in a real and tangible way, you won't really ever know or that's my opinion on the matter. Frankly, living in a war is far more enlightening than you might expect (that's if you survive). Which begs the question, is that another reason that war exists throughout our history. Is it more than just a battle for territory and resources? Is there, within it, the basic human animal need to fight and survive? To wake up from a mediocre existence? I see the outside world everyday due to news and social media but I no longer can remotely identify with it. Essentially, it seems empty, vain, and vaguely pathetic. Maybe your very existence must truly be threatened before you find purpose, meaning? This is not suffering as people can suffer without their existence being threatened. Suffering is involved in war but so is the fact that any time we can just be slaughtered. Now, how do you out there in Disneyland accomplish anything? That's the question.

When, pray tell, was this magnificent time, you speak thereof, when gestures actually meant something? Was there ever such a reality present, but on our naïve misapprehension of the void? It may even be the case that De Saussure was well aware that signs and signifiers exist only in relation to one another and never float free. Resistance is futile; Joy in thought is not optional.

I feel like we need struggle.

Sometimes I'd give anything to live in another age. Sure there was darkness, but there was mystery in the darkness.

Hope your well.

Reminds me of the e.e. cummings poem, "what got him was nothing." There is a true reason why we are all here. It is up to us individually to find it.
